Nowadays, speed skating championships are never held in the open air. Once famous stadiums like Bislett in Oslo have been rendered obsolete by airconditioned halls. Passing through Hamar in 1995, we had a chance to visit the Vikingskipet. It really is a very impressive and beautiful building. I shot the picture below, that also features my companions Ronald (left) and Anneke. The Oympiahall in Hamar, Norway, is better known as "Vikingskipet" (Viking Ship). Indeed, it does resemble a viking ship's hull turned upside down.
